Dublin GAA have completed the purchase of a 23-acre site at the former Hollystown Golf Course close to the Meath border.
The Dublin county board have this evening announced plans to develop playing facilities for all Dublin teams on the lands acquired from property developer Glenveagh Homes, including a clubhouse. The local Tyrrelstown GAA club and schools will also benefit from state-of-the-art facilities.
Back in 2017, Dublin bought a 35-acre site situated in the south of the county with reports suggesting that a 25,000-capacity stadium would be built at the location but nothing came of them.
Dubllin chairman Michael Seavers told dublingaa.ie: "I would like to thank Glenveagh for partnering with Dublin GAA in this hugely significant venture.
"This is a great day for Gaelic Games in our county. Never before has the value of sports been more relevant to people, both mentally and physically.
"Sporting facilities and green spaces are essential in our cities and this strategic development will bring huge benefits to Dublin GAA and to the local community.”
