Ballyragget mourn passing of former Kilkenny minor hurler

Ballyragget GAA club has confirmed the untimely passing of 2012 Kilkenny minor hurling panellist Eoin Bergin.
A pacey forward with a keen eye for goal, Eoin played a key role in Ballyragget reaching the 2018 All-Ireland intermediate final. He scored 1-1 from corner forward when St Patrick's defeated Tooreen to qualify for the Croke Park decider, only to be narrowly beaten by Kanturk.
Extending their deepest sympathy to Eoin’s parents Martin and Noreen, his brother Liam, his sister Aisling and his extended family, Ballyragget said that his loss will be greatly felt by the club.
"We have no words that could express the blackest of clouds descending on our club and parish upon hearing the untimely passing of Eoin Bergin," the Ballyragget GAA club wrote on social media this evening.
"Our hearts are with Eoin's parents Martin and Noreen, his brother Liam and sister Aisling. His sister in law Laura, grandparents, niece, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, his extended family and friends, and his team mates in St Patrick's GAA.
"Eoin hurled minor for Kilkenny in 2012 and was part of the St Patrick's GAA teams over the past number of years at underage, minor, under 21, and the adult team through county final highs and lows. He had immense pace and was a great man to see the goal ahead.
"A kind, quiet gentleman and a loss that will always be felt by the club and all who had the pleasure to know him."
