Brophy looks to positives

Laois have lost out on the last two Leinster U20 finals

Laois defender Dean Brophy is adamant that they most look at the positives of having reached two consecutive Leinster U20 finals.

Both games were lost to Dublin who picked up their sixth title in seven years last Friday night as they recorded a comfortable win over the O’Moore County.

Brophy played in both finals and admitted to the Leinster Express that it was tough to suffer two defeats, but added that reaching back to back finals was a big achievement also.

“We’ve a lot of lads there for next year now that can come on and drive it on again,” said Brophy. “Two Leinster finals in a row is a great achievement. It’s a pity that we couldn’t get over the line in either of them, but hopefully now it’s a good sign of what’s to come for Laois.

“Hopefully, they drive it on now for next year and do one better than us.”
