Corofin manager Kevin O’Brien believes that they wouldn’t have achieved their success without his backroom team.

O’Brien was quick to deflect praise from his own achievements which saw him guide the side to an historic three-in-a-row of All-Ireland club SFC titles following last Sunday’s extra time win over Down side Kilcoo.

Speaking to the Connacht Tribune, the Corofin manager stressed that they have made the group as tight knit as possible.

“I’m probably fortunate as well to have a great management team around me; anything I need to do is done. We really focus on the family and the support of people around us and we needed that support this week more than any other week,” said O’Brien.

“We had to rely on that strength. That was important for us. We had training on Tuesday night and we stuck together all week; I think it was important that we stayed strong as a unit and to know that we’re all there for each other.”

The Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues are back this weekend and so is the Hogan Stand Match Tracker. Join us on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon for live score and updates from the opening rounds.
