Kilcoo huddle after their win over Ballyboden in the All Ireland Club SFC semi final at Kingspan Breffni

Kilcoo teenage star Shealan Johnston says they are “ready for the challenge” against Corofin this Sunday.

The Down club will be contesting their first ever All-Ireland club SFC final when they meet the Galway giants and are ranked as 10/3 outsiders to pull off the upset at Croke Park.

18-year-old Johnston says the Magpies are well aware of the size of the task at hand.

"The fact that we have reached the All-Ireland final has brought us all on individually and collectively, but now we want to finish the job in the best manner possible. It would mean so much for our community if the team was to win,” Johnston told Belfast Telegraph.

"We know that Corofin are very strong and have some particularly experienced players, so we are aware of just how difficult it is going to be, but we are ready for the challenge."

He added: “We know that we can't afford to let Corofin get away from us.”
