Sean Cox returned to his home club St Peter’s, Dunboyne over the Christmas period for the first time since he was attacked in Liverpool last year.
Mr Cox suffered serious brain injuries after he was attacked outside Anfield in April 2018 and has required extensive rehabilitation and on-going care from his wife and family since.
He returned to the St Peter’s GAA club for the first time last Sunday to watch his beloved Liverpool defeat Wolverhampton Wanders and stretch their lead to 13 points in the Premier League table.
The Meath club shared pictures of their former chairman’s return on social media and said they were "delighted" to welcome him back.
