Members of Limerick’s All-Ireland winning hurling party visited the family home of Dolores O’Riordan on the eve of the first anniversary of The Cranberries singer’s sudden death.
The private visit, which took place almost two weeks ago, was warmly welcomed by Dolores’ mother Eileen, who told the Limerick Leader: “We had a big gathering, a great crowd, all friends and neighbours. It was excellent. They gave me some beautiful calendars of the team and two books which they signed, one of them, John Kiely said, is one of only 50 printed so that was lovely.”
Limerick manager Kiely was accompanied by star forward Shane Dowling and county board secretary Mike O’Riordan to the O’Riordan home in Ballybricken, which was one of the first ports of call for the Liam MacCarthy Cup after the Treaty County’s All-Ireland success last August.
Dolores O’Riordan’s hit ‘Dreams’ resonates with many Limerick supporters and was played in Croke Park following the final victory over Galway.
