Dublin GAA last night honoured its victorious 1958 All-Ireland SFC winning side.
Members of the team which defeated Derry in the final 60 years ago were guests of honour at last night’s medal presentation for Jim Gavin’s Leinster and All-Ireland winning squad from this past season.
Captained by Kevin Heffernan, the Dubs won their 16th Sam Maguire crown after defeating the Oak Leaf men by 2-12 to 1-9 before a crowd of 73,371 at Croke Park, where goals from Owen Gribben and Paddy Farnan were the difference for the capital men.

Meanwhile, the annual Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars football challenge which took place yesterday in Pairc Barrog, Kilbarrack saw Dublin defeat the Dub Stars by 3-19 to 1-14.
Fingallians sharpshooter Oisin Lynch top-scored with 2-3 for the victors, while Conor McHugh also chipped in with 1-5 as Kevin McManamon and Ryan Basquel registered 0-4 apiece for the Dubs Stars.
In the hurling challenge at the same venue, Dublin defeated Dubs Stars by 1-20 to 0-8 as full-forward Oisin O’Rorke hit 1-4 for Mattie Kenny’s team.
