Michael Breen is expected to miss the remainder of Tipperary's Munster SHC campaign after damaging ankle ligaments in training last Thursday night.

The Ballina clubman was selected to play at midfield against Cork yesterday, but was forced to withdraw and will have a scan this week to ascertain the extent of the damage.

Better news for Tipp is the return to fitness of corner back Cathal Barrett ahead of next weekend's round-robin clash with Waterford at the Gaelic Grounds. Niall O'Meara is also close to returning after a recent injury layoff.
