One of the main developments at tonight's Meath GAA annual convention was the announcement of Devenish Nutrition as the new official sponsor of the Meath senior football team for the next three years.
Devenish Nutrition is an agri-technology company, supplying quality animal feeds for the pig, poultry and ruminant sectors and its logo will replace Tayto Park on the famed green and gold jersey.
The Belfast headquartered company currently sponsor the Seneschalstown club and also have close ties with Sligo GAA.
Chairman Conor Tormey said that the deal with the new backers is the best secured in a few years, stating that a six-figure sum would be forthcoming to give the county finances a badly-needed boost.
One of the main men in the animal nutrition company, Owen Brennan, a Carlow-native, has been living in Beauparc for the last 20 years. The chairman said that Brennan's main sporting passions were Meath football and Munster rugby.
The sponsorship relates only the senior football team.
