Lee Chin has indicated that he will not be available for Wexford Youths' promotion/relegation play-off against Drogheda United on Friday night as he attends the All Star awards in Dublin.

After having helped Liam Dunne's Wexford side to an All-Ireland SHC quarter-final in August, Chin signed for the county's senior soccer side for the last six games of the SSE Airtricity Premier Division and scored his first goal in stoppage time on Monday night to give the Youths a 2-0 advantage heading into Friday's night's second leg at United Park.

The 23-year-old multi-talented sports star has stressed however that hurling remains his priority, which will see him attending the All Star ceremony at the Convention Centre instead, having been named among the hurling nominees.

"As I've said to the boys, it was nice to get in and get to know other lads in a different sport," Chin told the Irish Independent.

"They are a great bunch of lads. It was nice to be a part of it, to join and fight for them. I wouldn't look at myself as a huge value to the club. In my opinion, if I'm not there on Friday night there are three or four other lads who could step in off the bench and do a better job.

"The 2-0 cushion maybe makes it a little easier for me to not be there on Friday night."
