After yesterday's mixture of torrential rain, thunder and lightning, it will come as a relief to hear fine weather is expected for today's All-Ireland hurling final.

Croke Park should see plenty of dry weather and sunshine with Met Eireann forecasting: "Some sunny spells today but overall mostly cloudy. A few light showers scattered about this morning but mostly dry. Dry for most in the afternoon too but rain will push into parts of the west and southwest and then rain will become widespread this evening in a freshening southeasterly wind."

Highest temperatures will range between 15 and 20 degrees, which means conditions should be near perfect for the Kilkenny v Tipperary showdown.
