Longford produced the shock of the 2016 All-Ireland SFC when they beat last year's Ulster champions Monaghan in Clones this evening.
It's the second time Denis Connerton has masterminded the Farney County's championship downfall, having also done so during his previous tenure as Longford manager in 2004.
Everyone loves an underdog and the congratulations have been flooding in on twitter for Connerton's giant-killers.
I'd say it's the best performance I've seen from any longford team bull Masterson man of the match #win

Mayo Derry Down and now Monaghan all hanging from Longford's belt in this decade. Some county to embrace qualifiers. Fantastic win.

TweetAnother big qualifier scalp for Longford. Great win for them. But forcing Monaghan to play seven days after Donegal defeat still wrong.
