Dublin captured Leinster MHC honours courtesy of a 2-12 to 0-12 victory over Wexford at Croke Park today.

Second-half goals from Johnny McGuirk and Donal Burke was the difference between the two teams at the end of a keenly contested decider.

The team in sky blue finished the first-half with an 0-8 to 0-6 cushion but they trailed the Model County by 0-10 to 0-11 with eight minutes left on the clock.

Full-forward McGuirk halted Wexford's momentum when finding the back of their net in the 54th minute and midfielder Burke, who finished with 1-3 to his name, applied the gloss to their victory four minutes later.

Wexford's woes were compounded when their top scorer Rory O'Connor was shown a red card in stoppage time and it was Dublin captain Paddy Smyth who led his team up the Hogan Stand steps to collect the silverware.
