Dublin hurling manager Ger Cunningham lauded his players after yesterday's Walsh Cup final victory over Wexford.
Paul Ryan fired 0-10 for the Dubs as they had exactly that to spare in a 1-22 to 1-12 victory over the Slayneysiders and afterwards Cunningham heaped praise on his team for their performance at Croke Park.
"We were down 20 players that we couldn't consider for different reasons," the Cork man told The Irish Sun.
"So we set out with no ambitions in the competition other than just giving people a chance to put their hand up. Then we got a bit of momentum as we went along.
"I said to the lads before the game that any time you get a chance to play in Croke Park it's great and to win a trophy is obviously better again.
"Their attitude was good and they went out and gave a good performance again."
The win sets the capital men up nicely for their National League opener with Tipperary on February 13 at Semple Stadium.
