The GAA won't have to change the throw-in times for any of their championship games next summer after neither the Republic of Ireland nor Northern Ireland were handed any Sunday afternoon fixtures in yesterday's Euro 2016 draw.
Northern Ireland will play Poland in Nice on Sunday, June 12 - the same day as one of the Ulster SFC quarter-finals is scheduled for - but Michael O'Neill's men won't be in action until 5pm. Had the Republic or the North been drawn to play in the 2pm game on Sunday, June 12 in Paris, it would have clashed with no less than six football championship games spread over all four provinces.
The Republic of Ireland's group games are against Sweden on Monday, June 13 in Paris at 8pm, Belgium in Bordeaux on Saturday, June 18 at 2pm and Italy on Wednesday, June 22 in Lille at 8pm.
If either Irish team qualifies from their group, they could be involved in a 'Round of 16' game in Lyon on Sunday, June 26 at 2pm, which would clash with championship games taking place that afternoon.
