Lacey joins Tipp backroom team

Former Kildare and Tipperary footballer Brian Lacey

Former Kildare footballer Brian Lacey is to return to his native county as part of the Tipperary senior football management team.

The former All-Star corner back played hurling and football for Tipp before transferring to Kildare in the late 1990s and he went on to win two Leinster titles with the Lilywhites. Lacey returned to his native county where he finished up his inter-county career in 2006.

Following Liam Kearns appointment as Tipperary football manager, the former Laois manager has added Lacey to his backroom team as he takes on the role of video analyst.

Another Tipp/Kildare connection is that Maynooth Post Primary School Principal Johnny Nevin has been named as a selector with the Tipperary minor footballers where former Sarsfields player Mick O'Sullivan is coach.
