Oisin Gough paid tribute to Cuala's underage structure after the southsiders ended a 21-year wait for Dublin SHC honours on Saturday.
The former Dublin defender told the Irish Daily Star after the win over St. Jude's: "I think we did need that win, to show ourselves and to show everyone else in Dublin how good this team is.
"There's been a lot of talk in Dublin of Cuala over the years and we've known the potential that we had, so it's just great to get out there now and show it.
"It's the culmination of years of work at underage level and then at senior for the last few years. Mattie Kenny came in as manager and just added another extra element to the whole thing. We've not wanted for anything, all the stops have been pulled out by Mattie especially. He is fanatical about it. He has got lads from every side of the country up to train us."
