Cushendall are just 60 minutes away from retaining the Volunteer Cup after edging out Loughgiel 0-15 to 0-14 in yesterday's rescheduled Antrim SHC semi-final at Dunloy.
The match had to be re-fixed after originally being abandoned the previous Sunday when Paddy Watson, father of Loughgiel forward Liam, took ill pitch-side. Yesterday's game was essentially a shoot-out between Watson and Neil McManus, who posted 0-21 between them.
2012 All-Ireland club champions Loughgiel held a slender 0-8 to 0-7 lead at the break, but the holders eventually prevailed thanks to two late McManus frees. John McKillop's side now face Ballycastle in the final.
