The composer of the iconic Sunday Game theme music, James Last, has died at his home in Florida.

Born Hans Last, the German sold more than 80 million records during his career and his Jägerlatein is known to generations of Irish people because of RTE's flagship GAA programme.

The track was later remixed for the show by composer Sean Walsh.

There was an outcry from the viewing public when it was temporarily replaced between 2004 and 2008.
