A difficult day for Longford football ended on a positive note when Ross McNerney was released from hospital.
The corner forward was treated on the pitch for several minutes after taking a blow to the face in the closing stages of the midlanders' 27-point defeat to Dublin at Croke Park.
Afterwards, manager Jack Sheedy said: "He got a smack on the cheekbone just under the eye. He felt a bit dizzy from the collision. I think he caught someone's knee or hip, or something like that."
However, Longford GAA tweeted last night that McNerney was on the mend.
Longford's Ross McNerney was released from hospital earlier following a full check-up. Thanks for all the enquiries and good wishes.
