Cork legend Billy Morgan

With Billy Morgan in their corner, UCC's Brian O'Driscoll says they have every change of retaining the Sigerson Cup this weekend.

Hosts UCC will be bidding to become the first team to successfully defend their title since Sligo IT in 2005 this weekend and the passion of Cork great Morgan has been a vital ingredient in their winning formula to date.

"He's a top man, quality manager and he's very passionate. He brings a lot to the party," O'Driscoll said to The Irish Independent.

"Working with him is great for me. He's very good. My brother Kevin played under him for two or three years. He won a Sigerson medal and lost two finals.

"When Billy's involved, he's going to get the best out of every team. We're just glad to have him."

UCC are favourites to overcome the challenge of IT Carlow in their semi-final tomorrow while Dublin rivals, DCU and UCD, will face off in the second semi-final.

The decider will take place on Saturday (3pm) and will be televised live on TG4.
