Meath are set to be represented in the Amputee Football World Cup when Skyrne's James Conroy lines out for his country this weekend.

The Irish Amputee Football squad are currently in Mexico as they go over the final preparations for their tough group opener against Brazil on Sunday, with Conroy hoping to gain a spot in goals against the South Americans.

A talented soccer and Gaelic footballer player, James plies his trade as a defender for the Skryne club, whom he won a junior league title with in September, in the Royal County in the latter sport and has been a part of the Ireland squad since making his debut against Great Britain in July of last year.

Also in Ireland's group are reigning world champions Uzbekistan, whom they face on Monday, followed by their last group game against Ukraine on Tuesday.
