Kenny calls it a day

Meath's Seamus Kenny
Meath stalwart Seamus Kenny has called time on his days in the Meath senior football jersey.
A regular on the Royal County squad since end of 2000, the 34-year-old's medal collection includes two Leinster SFC, NFL Division 2 and three O'Byrne Cup medals as well as a Leinster U-21 FC souvenir (2001).
The long-serving defender made his debut as a blood substitute against Westmeath in the 2001 Leinster SFC and was handed the honour of captaining the county team in 2011 and '12.
Employed as Meath GAA Games Development Manager, he has been troubled by injury in recent times, overcoming two cruciate ligament set-backs during the course of his distinguished career.
A hip injury ruled the Simonstown Gaels clubman out of last Saturday's disappointing All-Ireland SFC qualifier exit at the hands of Armagh.
