Johnny Duane and Eoin Concannon have been chopped from the Galway senior football panel.

The St James clubmen both featured in the Tribesmen's Connacht SFC quarter-final victory over London last month.

Duane - a member of the 2011 All-Ireland U21 winning side - lined out at corner back in Ruislip, while Concannon came on as a substitute.

Both players were informed of the management's decision to drop them - for "internal" reasons - during the week.

Fringe players Nathan King, Dave O'Connell and Eoin Costello have also been released in recent weeks, while John Moore and Keith Kelly - both possible replacements for Duane - are rated doubtful for tomorrow week's Connacht semi-final against Sligo. Tweet
