Sean Leo McGoldrick is expected to make his return to the Derry team against Donegal on Sunday.
The flying wing back missed last month's Allianz League final defeat to Dublin with a knee injury he sustained in a club game, but he made his comeback for Eoghan Rua in a league encounter against Newbridge a fortnight ago and should be fit for the eagerly-awaited Ulster SFC quarter-final in Celtic Park.
"Fitness is not an issue with Sean Leo, he is a naturally fit player. It is just you had to take by degrees in terms of not rushing him back and making sure the injury was totally cleared," Derry boss Brian McIver said at last Thursday's press night.
"Now, as of reaction, we were away last weekend and did a bit of training and there was no reaction to that. I was speaking to him straight off the training pitch and there was no reaction so I am hopeful he will be 100 per cent."
