Following a turbulent few weeks, Limerick hurlers will return to their clubs for a fortnight as they focus on the club SHC.

Last weekend, Limerick were defeated by three points by Cork in an entertaining challenge match and now the players have been released by manager TJ Ryan so that they can return to their clubs.

Ryan told the Limerick Leader that the break was planned from the start of the year to allow a couple of rounds of the club championship take place before the Munster SHC starts.

"Every county will have club championship and that's the way and it's part of the calendar - it was planned and in the calendar," stated Ryan.

A full round of senior and intermediate club championship games are scheduled for this weekend and next before the hurlers resume training on May 12th.
