The Clare team that won the 1996 Oireachtas Cup will finally be presented with their medals tonight.

Then managed by Ger Loughnane, the Banner defeated Kilkenny in the final at Cusack Park, Ennis on a 0-10 1-4 scoreline. The success came between the Banner's All-Ireland victories of 1995 and '97.

Fittingly, the presentation will take place in Mike McNamara's Bar in Scariff at 9pm. McNamara, who was recently appointed manager of Galway club side Mullagh, was Clare trainer at the time. The medals will be presented by Fr. Harry Bohan, who managed the Banner to two National League successes in the late 1970s.

The following will receive their medals, 18 years later: Brendan McNamara, Michael O'Halloran, Richard Woods, Anthony Daly, Liam Doyle, Seanie McMahon, Christy Chaplin, Colin Lynch, Fergal Hegarty, Seanie Barry, Conor Clancy, Jamesie O'Connor, Niall Gilligan, Barry Murphy, Eamonn Taaffe, Seamus Ryan, David Forde, Frank Lohan, Alan Neville, Alan Markham, Paul O'Rourke, Mark McKenna, Danny Scanlon, Ronan O'Hara, Tomas Corbett, PJ O'Connell, Ollie Baker and Donal Moloney.
