Paul Ryan and Aiden Roche scored second half goals as the Dubs Stars defeated Leinster champions Dublin in the annual Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars senior hurling challenge at the Round Tower GAA grounds in Clondalkin on Tuesday evening.

The sides were level four times in a first half which ended with Anthony Daly's Dublin holding a slender 0-8 to 0-7 lead. But within a minute of the restart, the Stars were ahead thanks to a Ryan penalty.

Dublin replied with four unanswered points to regain the lead, but the pick of this year's county championship never looked back after Roche added their second goal. Two points each from Conal Keaney and Ryan (both frees) sealed the win.
