The death has occurred of former Dublin hurler and manager Sean Moyles.
Hailing from the Carnlough Road in Cabra on the northside of the city, Sean had lived in Clonee, Co. Meath in latter years. His funeral will take place on Thursday 2nd January at 11am at SS Peter and Paul's Church, Dunboyne, followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.
Sean won numerous honours with his local club Naomh Fionnbarra in the 1960s before going on to manage the club's senior hurlers. He also managed the Dublin senior hurlers in 1973. His son Sean jnr also played hurling with Dublin and Meath, while another son Anthony enjoyed a long career with the Royal County footballers.
Two years ago, Sean was honoured along with fellow Cabra residents Mickey Whelan and Paddy Holden - who both won All-Ireland football medals with Dublin - by Naomh Fionnbarra at their presentation night.
We extend our deepest sympathy to Sean's wife Antoinette, sons Sean, Eamonn, Barry and Anthony and daughter Michelle.
