Laois have gone for a retro look with their new jersey design.

There has already been a positive reaction online to the fact that the jersey will feature the traditional white hoop at its centre. It remains to be seen if this will lead to a revival of the yellow-coloured numbers which many spectators had difficulty in reading back in the 1980s and 1990s.

After more than a decade with Azzurri - whose parent company ran into financial difficulty recently - Laois have gone back to O'Neill's who are designers and manufacturers of the new strip. The logo of sponsor MW Hire Group is once again emblazoned across the front of the jersey, which will be launched in Colgan Sports, Portlaoise on December 6. Tweet
