Clooney Gaels of Antrim withstood a second half fight-back from Armagh's Cuchulainns to claim their first Ulster IHC title at Celtic Park yesterday.

PJ O'Connell (Clooney Gaels) and Neil Duffy (Cuchulainns) exchanged goals in the first half but the Antrim champions went in at the break with a commanding 1-11 to 1-3 advantage.

With Declan Coulter in top form - the midfielder finished with eight points to his name - the Orchard County outfit produced a strong second half showing but Clooney held on to claim the spoils.
