St Brendan's of Ardfert bridged a 23 year gap to their last Kerry SHC success when finishing with three points to spare over 14-man Lixnaw in the county final replay at Austin Stack Park yesterday.

Lixnaw were the architects of their own downfall to a large extent as they hit eight wides in the first when wind-assisted and had defender Maurice Corridan red carded in the 26th minute.

They led by 0-5 to 0-3 at the interval but the men from Ardfert hit four points without reply late on through John Egan, Eoin McCarthy, Darren Wallace and Dineen (penalty) to collect their seventh title.
