London SFC final: Colfer goal sinks holders
October 28, 2013
Kerry Kingdom Gaels football manager Noel Dunning
Kingdom Kerry Gaels 1-7
Tir Chonaill Gaels 0-9
Kerry legend Mick O'Connell, GAA President Liam O'Neill and current Kingdom star Paul Galvin were in Ruislip to witness Kingdom Kerry Gaels pip holders Tir Chonaill Gaels by a point to win the London SFC title for the first time since 2004.
Noel Gunning's charges held a slender 0-5 to 0-4 half-time lead and Lloyd Colfer's goal five minutes after the restart sent them on the road to victory.
Colfer then added a point to give his side a four point cushion and they held off a late rally from the champions to get their hands on the cup.
