October 07, 2013

Castlebar Mitchels and Mayo player Barry Moran
Castlebar Mitchels, Charlestown Sarsfields, Breaffy and Knockmore have made it through to the last four of the Mayo SFC.
Barry Moran caught the eye as Castlebar Mitchels got the better of Ballina Stephenites in the opening quarter-final clash on Saturday.
The county panelist kicked five points in his side's 1-20 to 2-8 success.
Former county player Tom Parsons played an instrumental role in Charlestown's 2-17 to 2-10 victory over Garrymore.
Martin Mulvaney top scored for the winners with 1-5.
The O'Shea brothers, Aidan and Seamus, laid the foundations for Breaffy's 0-17 to 2-7 victory over champions Ballaghaderreen at Castlebar yesterday.
In the second clash at the county grounds, Knockmore booked their semi-final ticket with a 1-15 to 1-10 win over Ballintubber.
The winners overcame the loss of Aidan Kilcoyne who was stretchered off the field before the game started.
The throw-in was delayed for five minutes as the former Mayo player was removed to hospital by ambulance.
Kilcoyne went to ground after the Knockmore's players broke away from the team photograph.
The semi-final draw is as follows: Castlebar Mitchels v Knockmore; Charlestown v Breaffy.
The games will be played next weekend at MacHale Park as part of a triple header with the JFC final between Ardnaree Sarsfields and Cill Chomain.
