Spillane's daughter to miss big match
August 28, 2013
Pat Spillane's model daughter will be at Electric Picnic rather than Croke Park this weekend.
Twenty-one-year-old Cara Spillane, a law and Irish student who is signed up to Assets Agency, is an ardent supporter of the Kingdom, who rarely misses a game.
But she will sit out the All-Ireland SFC semi-final on Sunday as she'll be attending the popular music festival in Laois.
Cara had already bought her tickets for Electric Picnic before Eamonn Fitzmaurice's men booked their place in the last four. Perhaps the thinking in the Spillane household was that Kerry weren't going to make the semi-finals this year?
"I bought the tickets ages ago hoping Kerry wouldn't play that weekend - and just my luck, they are," she reveals in The Irish Daily Star.
"So I'll be shouting loud and proud for the Kingdom while watching in a field in Stradbally."
