The next Waterford hurling manager is likely to be Derek McGrath if the bookies are to be believed.

McGrath led De La Salle to county honours last year and is ½ odds on favourite with Paddy Power to take the hot seat vacated by Michael Ryan, who is priced at 5/1 to perform a u-turn and remain at the helm.

Former Wexford manager and current member of the Kildare backroom team, Jason Ryan, is 9/2 second favourite.

Peter Queally, who served as a selector during Davy Fitzgerald's tenure with Waterford is priced at 5/1, as is Kevin Ryan who has just been reappointed in Antrim.

Ken McGrath is 7/1 while Donal Og Cusack is 8/1. Sean Power, who is preparing the Deise minor hurlers for an All-Ireland final appearance, could see his odds of 16/1 cut if he is successful on the second Sunday of September.
