Cavan's Kevin Downes
Cavan native and London coach Kevin Downes is looking forward to Sunday's Connacht SFC final.
Downes, who is a former Cavan hurler of note has been the coach of the London footballers for the past three years.
And he admits that reaching a Connacht SFC final is beyond everyone's wildest dreams including his fellow county man Lorcan Mulvey.
"Over the years, it has been small steps to be honest," Downes told the Anglo-Celt. "We are probably a championship team really when we put the heads down; particularly in Ruislip we like to think of it as a bit of fortress."
He added: "The effort has been fantastic; you don't get to provincial finals without a massive effort. I suppose the commitment is the first thing and if you have commitment you are always going to achieve things. Particularly in the last two or three months the effort has been unbelievable."
