The President of Ulster GAA Martin McAviney has thanked everyone involved in the match arrangements for the Ulster SFC quarter final between Cavan and Fermanagh held in Brewster Park yesterday.
Due to the G8 meeting in Fermanagh this week, there were a number of restrictions on fans travelling to the game but plans put in place helped overcome the issue.
"I would like to thank all the statutory authorities who supported the Ulster GAA event team in the organisation of the quarter-final. In particular I would like to highlight the excellent support we received from both the PSNI, NI Fire Service and An Garda Síochána," said McAviney.
"I thank all the services and their officers for their logistical support and advice both on match day and in the weeks leading up to the game. The event ran to plan and as a result of good organisation we were able to facilitate a match crowd of just under 10,000 with minimal disruption. I would also like to thank the media for their support in communicating the travel arrangements to the public over the last three weeks.
"I would especially thank both the Fermanagh and Cavan GAA County Committees and all the spectators who travelled to Brewster Park for their cooperation during the match and their continued support. Attendances for the 2013 Ulster GAA Football Championship are at this stage up on 2012 and we now look forward to two exciting semi finals over the next two weeks"
