Donnelly hoping to see some action

Fermanagh's Eoin Donnelly
Eoin Donnelly could make an appearance off the bench for Fermanagh in Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-final against Cavan.

The midfielder suffered a broken leg against Monaghan in the Allianz League on March 9, but has made a quicker-than-expected recovery to put himself in the frame for some game-time this weekend.

"Once you're back, you never think you were away," he said in the Fermanagh Herald.

"Now, getting back out, and being able to do a bit more on the pitch and a bit of running, slowly, slowly you're improving. It's hard to see how well you're doing from the inside, but looking back you can say 'two weeks ago I wasn't able to do this and now I can."

Donnelly warns that Cavan won't be in the least bit fazed by having to come to Brewster Park.

"Don't forget their U21s have won an Ulster title this last two years at Brewster Park and, looking at Cavan generally, I'm not surprised at how well they've done. I was impressed with some of the players they have."
