Wallace and Newman debut for Royals
June 13, 2013

Meath's Eamon Wallace
Eamonn Wallace and Mickey Newman will make their Leinster SFC debuts for Meath against Wicklow on Sunday.
Ratoath clubman Wallace, who is just out of minor, is named at right corner forward with Newman picked in the other corner. Kilmainham's Newman, who made a big impression with NUI Maynooth in the Sigerson Cup a couple of years ago, had an outstanding Allianz League campaign which saw him rack up 4-31 in seven games.
The championship newcomers will flank the experienced Stephen Bray in the Royal County full forward line, meaning there are no starting places for Joe Sheridan, Brian Farrell or Paddy Gilsenan.
Elsewhere, manager Mick O'Dowd has raised eyebrows by naming Caoimhim King at centre back, despite him having not started any of the Royals' Allianz League games. King is called up in the absence of the injured Davy Dalton and Eoghan Harrington.
Dual player Mickey Burke and Damien Carroll also return to the team after recovering from injuries to line out left half back and centre forward respectively.
Meath (SF v Wicklow): P O'Rourke; D Keogan, K Reilly, B Menton; C Lenihan, C King, M Burke; B Meade, C Gillespie; P Byrne, D Carroll, G Reilly; E Wallace, S Bray, M Newman.
