The hoganstand.com football team of the week
It will come as no surprise to learn that Wexford and Monaghan dominate hoganstand.com's football team of the week following their wins over Louth and Antrim respectively.

1. Rory Beggan (Monaghan)

Made his championship debut between the posts for the Farney County against Antrim and will be happy after keeping a clean sheet.

2. Padraig Rath (Louth)

Rath and his defensive colleagues had their hands full with Wexford's attacking unit but the Dreadnots clubman battled gamely.

3. Colin Walshe (Monaghan)

Monaghan weren't overly stretched by Antrim but Walshe was, once again, solid as a rock in their defence.

4. Andy McClean (Antrim)

Not too many Antrim footballers stood out against the Farney County but McClean can't be faulted for his efforts.

5. Dessie Mone (Monaghan)

The experienced Mone was influential in restricting Antrim to just two second half points and he also chipped in with a point at the other end of the field.

6. John O'Brien (Louth)

Was sent off late in the game but that had little bearing on the final result and he gave it his all for the time he was on the pitch.

7. Adrian Flynn (Wexford)

Flynn was a commanding presence in the Wexford half-back line and also roamed forward to raise a white flag.

8. Daithi Waters (Wexford)

The Wexford midfield pairing of Waters and Rory Quinlivan laid the foundations for their side's one-point victory.

9. Sean McVeigh (Antrim)

The former London captain was on target with two points but was powerless to prevent Antrim from going under to Monaghan.

10. Andy McDonnell (Louth)

Was an influential figure in Louth's late comeback but, unfortunately for them, they had left themselves with too big a mountain to climb.

11. Ciaran Lyng (Wexford)

A return of 1-3 from the talented marksman put down a large deposit on Wexford's memorable win.

12. James Holmes (Wexford)

The half-forward also made a handsome contribution to the Model County's success in Drogheda.

13. Christopher McGuinness (Monaghan)

His shooting let him down at times but McGuinness was on target with two valuable points.

14. Shane Lennon (Louth)

The Wee County full-forward continued where he left off against Laois and hit 1-5 - 0-3 from frees.

15. Ben Brosnan (Wexford)

Brosnan's accurate place kicking was a vital ingredient in Wexford's winning formula and he was the architect of many of his team's best moments in attack.
