Wall says U21s are better than two years ago

Jamie Wall rates the current Cork U21 football team better than the highly-rated crew of 2011.

The Kilbrittain half back, who won his third Munster U21 medal last week, played alongside current senior stars Ciaran Sheehan and Aidan Walsh on the 2011 team which breezed through Munster, only to suffer a surprise defeat to Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final.

Speaking to the Southern Star ahead of tomorrow's All-Ireland semi-final against Cavan in Tullamore, Wall said: "Not to disrespect any of the lads on the team two years ago because there were a lot of outstanding players on that team, but I genuinely believe this is the best Cork U21 team that I have been involved in.

"When this team clicks, I think it's the best team that I have been involved with over the last three years. This is not just a really talented group of lads, but there is a massive team effort as well, fellas bust themselves training, and it's starting to show now.

"Things are starting to go up a notch every game, and we'll try and do it again on Saturday."
