Limerick captain Ian Ryan has paid tribute to influential midfielder John Galvin who returned to action last Sunday.

Galvin was introduced as a substitute in the narrow NFL Division 4 win over London after recovering from a second cruciate ligament injury.

"It is great to have John Back," Ryan told The Irish Daily Star.

"Everyone looks up to John. He is a huge influence on us in the dressing room.

"He plays a big part at training, but he is still keen to pass the responsibility on to the younger players.

"He has been doing it himself for ten or 12 years so everyone else has to gradually step up and start talking.

"But having him back is huge for the team." Tweet
