Limerick GAA sponsor JP McManus is to host a celebratory outing to mark the 40th anniversary of Limerick's last All-Ireland SHC success.

The function will be held at the Staker Wallace GAA club grounds on Sunday May 19th where 1973 Limerick captain Eamonn Grimes will officially open the grounds.

Both the victorious Limerick team and the Kilkenny side that they defeated on that special day will be invited to the event as will the current county teams, who are to play a challenge match.

The Staker Wallace club is situated not far from McManus' Martinstown Stud and has been the subject of a major development in recent years.
