Longford...........4-18 Tipperary.........2-11 In-form Longford produced an impressive scoring display in this NFL Division 2B game at Nenagh to demolish Tipperary and keep their promotion hopes alive. The midlanders never looked back after burly full forward Niall Sheridan blasted to the net after just 50 seconds. A brace of points from Declan Browne brought Tipp back into contention before they were rocked back on their heels when Sheridan swooped for his second goal midway through the half. With Sheridan, Paul Barden and Padraic Davis to the fore, Longford continued to pile on the scores, taking a 2-8 to 0-5 advantage into the interval. On the restart, Davis and Jamsie Martin added goals to end the game as a contest. Declan Browne bagged 1-5 in the closing stages to put a more respectable look on the scoreboard for the struggling Tipp men.
