All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final: Ballymun overcome Crokes

Dublin and Kerry locked horns, and for the second week running the aforementioned came out on top as Ballymun Kickhams qualified for their first ever All-Ireland club final.
A first half goal from corner forward Ted Furman proved to be crucial while sharpshooter Dean Rock kicked five points to help the Dublin champions through.
A penalty early in the second half conceded by Philly McMahon for a foul on Daithi Casey was another vital moment in the game. However, Ballymun Sean Currie keeper denied Chris Brady.
Dr Crokes trailed 1-4 to 0-4 at half time. Furman's goal on 17 minutes was the ultimate difference.
Furman capitalised on a long ball delivered in from McMahon. The latter, selected at full back in the programme, operated around midfield. This proved to be an astute move from Paul Curran.
Jamie Doolan, Brady, Casey and Colm Cooper pointed for Crokes while Rock (2), Furman and Davy Byrne were responsible for Ballymun's first half scores.
Rock, Jason Whelan and McMahon helped Ballymun Kickhams extend their lead to six after referee Marty Duffy awarded Dr Crokes a penalty. 1-7 to 0-4.
Crokes managed to reduce the deficit to two with four unaswered points from the boot of Casey (2), Cooper and midfielder Johnny Buckley.
A brace of points from Rock, first from a free, settled Ballymun's nerves before Derek Byrne ensured they would meet St Brigids on March 17th with the games final score.
