Kildare SFC final: Sash's back on top
October 22, 2012

2012 Kildare SFC champions Sarsfields. INPHO
SARSFIELDS 2-11
CARBURY 0-11
Sarsfields returned to the summit of Kildare senior football when finishing with six points to spare over Carbury in yesterday's final at Newbridge.
Declan McKenna's 46th minute goal was a turning point in the game as the Sash's went on to claim a first county title since 2005.
The winners trailed by 0-5 to 0-7 at half-time and were still two points in arrears when McKenna struck for the game's opening goal.
A Gary White (free) and a brace of points from Alan Smith put some daylight between the teams.
Conor Tiernan added gloss to the team in green and white's victory when netting via the penalty spot late on.
