Impressive Ballaghaderreen ended Ballintubber's reign as Mayo senior football champions in yesterday's final at Elverys McHale Park, Castlebar.
Ballagh' claimed the Moclair Cup for the third time in their history when leading from start to finish against the holders who were forced to field without injured Mayo star Cillian O'Connor.
O'Connor's county colleague Alan Dillon was forced to retire midway through the second half with a head injury.
A 60th minute goal from midfielder Barry Kelly applied the gloss to Ballaghderreen's victory.
The winners led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the change of ends with Kelly and midfield partner James Kilcullen laying the foundations for their success.
