Curry 1-16
St. Mary's 1-10
County star Adrian Marren shot 0-10 as Curry defeated St. Mary's in the Sligo SFC final at Markievicz Park yesterday.
The south county side led from start to finish with Jason Marren's third-minute goal getting them off to a flying start. They had 1-2 on the board before Ciaran Breheny got St. Mary's off the mark from a free in the 11th minute. By half-time, they had the margin down to two points, 0-8 to 1-7.
Adrian Marren opened the second half scoring for the winners, but a Stephen Coen penalty left the minimum in it, 1-11 to 1-10, at the end of the third quarter. However, St. Mary's failed to score again as Curry upped the tempo to reel off five unanswered points in the final 15 minutes.
